Chairman's Message

I am honored to serve as the Chairman of the General Assembly of TODA. The founding of TODA in 2023 marks an additional contribution to the human capital development in the tourism industry in Macao, Portuguese-speaking countries, and beyond. The acronym TODA stands for “ALL” in Portuguese, reflecting our inclusive approach to serve as a platform that unites tourism professionals and aspiring specialists.

The global tourism ecosystem continues to grow as an economic engine, providing promising careers in travel, hospitality, food & beverage, and related sectors. This growth underscores the importance of continually developing and enhancing the capabilities of professionals in our industry.

Macao, positioned as the “World Centre of Tourism & Leisure,” has a rich history of developing its tourism sector from a city of cultures to a city of gastronomy, with numerous UNESCO World Heritage sites. Macao serves as a hub for Portuguese-speaking countries and beyond, sharing knowledge, fostering partnerships, and hosting professional engagements. TODA joins hands with other stakeholders in these endeavors.

I am delighted to welcome you to the International Tourism Professionals Development Association, Macao (TODA).

TODA is a non-profit organization founded by a group of passionate tourism professionals and educators in Macao, a vibrant international tourism destination.

At TODA, we are dedicated to fostering the continuous development of the tourism industry by providing a platform where professionals and all those interested in tourism can learn, share, and exchange best practices, valuable experiences, innovative ideas, and up-to-date information. Through a hybrid approach, we engage a diverse audience by offering both in-person and online initiatives, making learning more accessible to everyone.

Following the successful launch of our first diploma programme, Sustainable Tourism Practices, jointly organised with the University of Saint Joseph, we look forward to offering more programmes and activities that we hope you will find valuable and inspiring. We invite you to stay connected and join us on this journey.
