The 3rd session of the TODA-USJ joint Diploma in Sustainable Tourism Practices - Sustainable Tourism Marketing – Exploration of the Multifaceted Taipa Village was held on 24 April. This session was conducted by Ms. Pamela Chan, Managing Director of Taipa Village Destination Limited, Vice President of Taipa Village Cultural Association and member of the TODA Executive Board.

Apart from introducing the background of this culturally rich destination, several tourism and hospitality frameworks have been introduced to echo Pamela’s real-life destination creation practices over these years. The approach is to convey a holistic understanding for participants in driving cultural and sustainable tourism in a historic site by leveraging heritage resources, connection with the local community and stakeholders, as well as support from the local authorities.

25 participants from Macau, in addition to 18 TODA scholarship recipients from partner institutions and tourism departments of Portuguese-speaking counties including Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe and Cabo Verde attended the engaging lecture.
