Macau's gaming industry saw a significant rebound in August 2024, with gross gaming revenue (GGR) reaching MOP19.75 billion, a 14.8% year-on-year increase. This growth was driven by a surge in tourists from mainland China and South Korea, seasonal demand, and an extra weekend in August. Despite this positive trend, Macau's GGR remains below pre-pandemic levels, highlighting ongoing recovery challenges.
